The North Bay Rotaract Club meets in the Plaza View Room at Jacoby’s Storehouse at 6 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.

President AJ Takes the Gavel!

At his first meeting as RCAS Club President, AJ Gonzales thanked Past President Ray Noogle/Noggle for making the last Rotary Year so much fun. He presented Ray with a Past President’s badge, then he gave a President-Elect pin to the 2020-2021 RCAS President, Maggie Kraft! The segment closes with President AJ thanking the Club’s hard working Sergeant At Arms – Nick Torres.

President AJ then told us a bit about his life, and how he came to join our Club. He also showed a clip of Rotary International President Mark Maloney introducing the year’s theme – “Rotary Connects the World”.
AJ shared his vision for the new Rotary Year, telling us that he plans to focus on three areas in particular: Mentorship, Building Our World, and Fellowship.

Sophie is our Newest Sunriser … our Newest Treasurer, Too!

Sophie Saucedo became the newest member of our Club last Friday. But she’s no stranger to Rotary ideals – she is a member and Past President of the North Bay Rotaract Club. And she’s no stranger to our Club, either – over the last year or two, she’s attended almost all of our meetings.
We snapped her up just in time, since she volunteered to serve as our Club Treasurer! RCAS is lucky to have such a bright, energetic, fun person join our ranks.  Welcome, Sophie!!

Plans for the New Rotary Year

President AJ thanked departing board member Terri Clark, and he noted that Maggie Kraft’s board seat opened up since she has transitioned to President-Elect. The Sunrisers who will fill those slots are Malinda Damme and Tom Tellez.
We then heard from many Committee Chairs, representing the five Avenues of Service – Club Service, Community Service, International Service, Vocational Service, and New Generations (aka Youth Service).

Farewell to Finn

As the meeting ended, many Sunrisers bid a fond farewell to our 2018-2019 Rotary Exchange Student from Germany, Finn Grewe. Finn has been delightful, and was a great ambassador for his country. We’ll miss you, Finn! Come back soon … and often!!

Don’t miss a minute!
