We hope that you will attend one of our lively Friday meetings,
whether or not you are interested in joining Rotary.
We meet most Fridays at 7 am in the Plaza View Room at Arcata’s historic Jacoby Storehouse.
(Please note – RCAS will be “dark” (no meetings) on June 28th and July 5th.)

The North Bay Rotaract Club meets in the Plaza View Room at Jacoby’s Storehouse at 6 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.

An Appreciative President Thanks You!

This meeting was the last time President Ray would have some control over the proceedings, so he took advantage of that by thanking the Sunrisers who have contributed so much over the course of this year.

His Rotarian of the Week was AJ Gonzales, who will be stepping into his new role as Club President very soon.
Ray also thanked his Board of Directors and his Committee Chairs. Others who were recognized for their support included Karen Burgesser, Scott Heller, Bob Johnson, “Retiring” Club Treasurer Bryan Reeser, new Club Treasurer Sophie Saucedo, Club Secretary Howard Stauffer, and Sergeant At Arms Nick Torres.

Terri Clark was singled out for her tireless (and amazingly successful) effort in support of the Rotary Foundation, and Dick Johnson was named Rotarian of the Year.

Lonny Grafman Returns

Lonny Grafman was our Featured Speaker back on December 1, 2017, and he returned last week to discuss some of the projects he is working on with the support of our Club.

Lonny is an instructor at Humboldt State University, and he is also a sustainable design activist. He spoke about rainwater catchment systems and other topics.
