The First Online RCAS Meeting!
President AJ and the RCAS Board were ahead of the “Shelter in Place” curve, as they set up our first online meeting!
A Thomas Update Plus Recognitions
Our Thomas (Spengler) update did not come directly from him – his host father Chris Hemphill said that he was still asleep upstairs, pooped out from working in the yard with Lisa the previous day.
Lisa was also recognized for a photo with former Rotary Kid Kate Breyer, while Amy Scolari had a photo op with Senator/Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders a few years ago. We also had a bit of a teaser, with President AJ promising more to follow on Brandi Easter and Crystal Perez (aka Charli Murphy).
We heard from President-Elect Maggie Kraft, who recently returned from the President-Elect Training Seminar (PETS). She shared some of the topics they discussed, and she showed off her lei!
Karen Burgesser told us about a tree planting, and we sang Happy Birthday to President AJ!
Coronavirus Resources In Humboldt County
At the RCAS Online Meeting on March 20, 2020, we discussed the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic and the associated Shelter in Place orders on local businesses. President AJ turned the meeting over to our “Resident Expert”, Sunriser Gregg Foster, who is also the Executive Director of the Redwood Region Economic Development Commisssion (RREDC). Gregg shared some great information with us.
