Announcements & News from Both Exchange Students
President Ray displayed a photo of Sunriser Terri Clark and her husband (and fellow Rotarian) Marty Lay with Mt. Fuji as a backdrop. Several people commented that most tourists have to wait a long time to get such a great view of the mountain, but Terri and Marty are just lucky, I guess!
We then saw some photos of Outbound Exchange Student Travis Naman, who is winding down his year in Brazil … while getting wound up with a snake!
Meanwhile, our Inbound Exchanger, Finn Grewe, told us about his weekend in Reno for the District Conference. He said that it was very interesting to talk with Rotarians from other areas, and he told us that it was a “really, really fun weekend”. He planned to participate in the Kinetic Sculpture Race the next day, so we’ll hear how that went in a couple of weeks. Rebecca Crow said that Finn (and she) will be part of the Trilobike team, which has done so well in the past!
Recognitions and Rotarian of the Week
The first recognition was of JOYC herself – her daughter Kayla recently graduated from the University of San Diego!
Claire Ajina and her husband Haider were in Ireland and England not long ago. They visited the oldest pubs in each country while they visited their son.
Ray’s Rotarian of the Week was Patti Britt Campbell, who was quick to respond to Terri Clark’s recent email about the Rotary Foundation.
