Please feel free to join us at next Friday’s meeting. This week, we will meet at the Arcata Veterans Memorial Building at 1425 J Street. Meeting time will be 7 am as usual. We will hear from Marine Veteran Jeff Sterling about the building’s history, and we will receive a guided tour!

  • Here is the news on recent Sunriser volunteer efforts:

Welcome, Kayla Johnston!

Last week, we welcomed new Sunriser Kayla Johnston. she works at Jackson and Eklund Accounting, and she was sponsored by her co-coworker Rachel Damme.
Kayla is excited about joining Rotary, since “it is a great way to get involved in so many Community Service projects”.

Izzy’s Week

Exchange Student Izzy told us about her Halloween, including her participation in the Lost Coast Rotaract’s “Spirits & Spirits” event!

Featured Speaker: Author Carla Baku

Our Featured Speaker was Carla Baku, author of the novel, “Chasing Down the Moon”. The book tells of a sad period in Eureka’s history – the expulsion of Chinese residents in the 1880s.

Carla discussed her research and how the book was published.
