Sunrise Briefs
- President Dustin announced that our “Double Day” meeting on February 2nd was a great success. The “Sunrise” attendance was 49, and the “Sunset” count was 66, for a total of 115!
Sojourning Sunrisers & Special Daze
Our travelers included Terri Clark (whose van suffered on her trip) and Brian Plumley, who attended a Kings game with his son.
February 3rd was Jeff Stebbins’ 50th birthday, but it was also a workday. Maggie Kraft also worked on her February 5th birthday, but she had fun during the weekend leading up to it!
Studebaker Recognition!
At the February 8, 2018 RCAS meeting, Sunriser Rachel Damme was recognized for driving an old Studebaker. Is she cool, or what?? Below, in the still from the video, she is demonstrating proper shifting technique.
Izzy’s Week
Exchange Student Izzy Orasch talked about getting geared up for the Prom, and she reminded us about Valentunes.
Anne & Carly of Food For People
Anne Holcomb and Carly Robbins of Food For People were the Featured Speakers at our February 9, 2018 meeting. They talked about their programs for young people (such as Backpacks for Kids) and for seniors. They also discussed the Food For People outreach and education programs. (Please note – the organization is looking for warehouse space. If you can help, please contact them at 707-445-3166.)
Transitioning To Service After Self
David Mark-Raymond is a member of the Rotary Club of Sebastopol Sunrise, and he also serves as the Endowment Chair for Rotary District 5130. On February 9, 2018, he spoke to our Club about the benefits of establishing a bequest to the Rotary Foundation.
Craft Talk: Vanessa Griffin
At our February 9, 2018 meeting, Sunriser Vanessa Griffin completed her Blue Badge requirements by giving a Craft Talk. And this Craft Talk included beverages from her establishment, “The Griffin”!
