We meet most Fridays at 7 am in the Plaza View Room at Arcata’s historic Jacoby Storehouse.

RISE: “Rotary Involvement Strengthens Everyone

Saturday, January 19: The Fortuna Sunrise Rotary present its annual Seafood Boil, starting at 5:30 pm at Fortuna’s River Lodge.
Saturday, January 26: Pancake Breakfast to support Arcata High School’s College & Career Center. At Arcata High in the Fine Arts Building.
Saturday, February 9: It’s our birthday! (Well, almost.) The RCAS Charter Celebration starts at 2 pm at the Griffin in Arcata!
Saturday, March 9: Judges needed for the annual Humboldt History Day competition at Humboldt State. See Jeff Stebbins to volunteer.

Additional Important Stuff

The Arcata High School Interact Club meets every Friday at 12:20 pm.
The North Bay Rotaract Club meets in the Plaza View Room at Jacoby’s Storehouse at 6 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.

David Ferney – the Artistic Director of the Arcata Playhouse – showed up at our meeting to express his organization’s appreciation for our Club’s support over the years. President Ray just happened to have a check at the ready as well!

Rotarian of the Week!

Randy Mendosa was President Ray’s selection for Rotarian of the Week. The award now includes a gift card! (Shannon Maciel asked whether the policy was retroactive. I’m sure that had nothing to do with the fact that she was the Rotarian of the Previous Week.)

Humboldt Wind Project

Our Featured Speaker was Natalynne DeLapp of Terra-Gen. Natalynne talked about the wind energy that her company will soon be harvesting in the hills above Rio Dell. The project should create local jobs and supply less expensive renewable energy for Humboldt County.
