Dustin’s Triumphant Return and Recognitions!

President Ray was away, so Past President Dustin Littlefield came in off the bench. After introductions and announcements, the stage was set for Recognitions by JOYC (the Justice Of Your Club). However, JOYC was initially stymied when all of her intended recognees missed the meeting – they must have hit their snooze buttons one too many times. Still, several Sunrisers stepped up to tell their stories – past, present, and future.

Scott Heller and Terri Clark will be traveling to Japan (but not together), Bryan Plumley’s daughter received some exciting news from Stanford, Gregg Foster sightings will be reported soon in several disparate locations, Rebecca Crow visited her old stomping grounds in Baltimore, and Jeff Stebbins thanked the Club for its strong support of the recent Pancake Breakfast that supported the AHS Career and College Center.

South of the Border with Finn!

Exchange Student Finn Grewe told the Club about his recent trip to Zihuatenejo, Mexico with his Host Parents – Sunriser Andreas Krause and his wife Jen.

RCAS Makes an International Impact!

Howard Stauffer provided an update from the World Community Service Committee, letting us know all of the good things RCAS is doing and funding around the globe.
He told us about projects that we are sponsoring in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Honduras, Philippines, Cambodia, and Guatemala.

The Newest Rotarian In The World (at least, as of Friday morning)

The number of Rotarians in the world increased by one last Friday, when we welcomed Patti Britt Campbell into the Rotary Club of Arcata Sunrise!

Walking & Biking from Arcata to Blue Lake

At the March 8, 2019 RCAS Meeting, our Featured Speaker was Emily Sinkhorn, of the Redwood Community Action Agency (RCAA). Emily told us how the Annie and Mary Trail – which will connect Arcata and Blue Lake for pedestrians and bicyclists – is taking shape.
